The Australian Green Grants Guide
About the Australian Green Grants Guide
In its third year, The Australian Green Grants Guide is a comprehensive listing of environmental and heritage grants offered by Government and non-Government organisations.
In the 2008 edition, you’ll have access to more than 300 grants around Australia. We’ve added 50 new grants since last year.
Projects that lower greenhouse gas emissions, that conserve places of environmental and heritage value and that use water wisely are examples of those that have received funding.
If your project could benefit the environment then it's worth having a look at the Australian Green Grants Guide. Now is the time to start thinking about funding for next year's projects.
The Guide focuses on grants relating to seven themes:
Water ~ Biodiversity ~ Energy ~ Greenhouse ~ Heritage Sites ~ Land ~ Waste

The Flood Risk Disk
If you have ever tried to communicate flood risks to a community you will know how hard it is for people to comprehend the chances and consequences of being flooded.
Through our work in community education we have developed the Flood Risk Disk © as a simple tool to help you better communicate ideas such as:
- Large floods are less likely than small floods but can cause much more damage;
- The chance of being flooded increases with the amount of time spent in a locality;
- Rare floods have a significant chance of occurring if you stay in a locality for a long time;
- Even if you are in a locality for a very long time, there is a chance you will not witness a large flood.
Our experience has been that when people have something to interact with, they have an improved ability to learn and understand the issues at hand. Hence the creation of the Flood Risk Disk©. We believe this is a comprehensive and valuable tool in educating flood-affected communities and individuals of their very real flood risks.
At a recent breakfast seminar conducted by the NSW SES over 90% of participants surveyed said they found the Flood Risk Disk © easy to use.
You can purchase risk disks at $1 each (plus GST, package and handling). There is a minimum order of 500. Alternatively, ask us for a price to customise the Flood Risk Disk © for your organisation.
If you would like to place an order, or would like further information about the Flood Risk Disk ©, contact Anthea on (02) 9354 0300.
