Launch of Disaster Resilience Education for Young People Handbook

Molino Stewart Principal Neil Dufty was the writer of the newly released Disaster Resilience Education for Young People Handbook published by the Australian Government through the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR). The new Handbook was launched on 1 September and is one of a series of handbooks published by AIDR in recent years. It is the authoritative and trusted source of knowledge for national principles on Disaster Resilience Education. The Handbook promotes the adoption of good practice in Disaster Resilience Education through outlining common language and key concepts and illustrates effective approaches to learning and engagement in a variety of contexts.

The Handbook aligns national disaster risk reduction and resilience strategy and policy with Disaster Resilience Education for Young People by informing and assisting jurisdictions, agencies and other organisations and individuals, to engage with young people and school communities on understanding and addressing disaster risk. The Handbook is available here.
