Molino Stewart recently undertook an independent environmental audit of the Widemere Construction and Demolition Recycling Facility (hereafter referred to as Widemere Facility). Operating since 2002, the Widemere Facility acts as Boral's largest recycling centre in NSW. The audit reviewed the project’s performance via systems, records, procedures and site observations in relation to the conditions of the original development consent, and the relevant environment protection licence under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (POEO Act) for the site. The audit was conducted in accordance with the AS/NZS ISO 19011 Australian/New Zealand Standard: Guidelines for quality and/or environmental management systems auditing and the Independent Audit Post Approval Requirements (Department of Planning and Environment 2020). The audit considered a total of 206 conditions of consent of which there were 320 separately assessable sub-conditions (items).
