Ecologist

About the Role
In this role you will enjoy a variety of work by partnering with local and federal government, regulatory authorities, and private organisations. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and support on a range of projects, including:
  • Supervise others and utilise your established contacts & networks for business development
  • Delivering high-quality expert advice and managing stakeholders internally & externally
  • Manage your own projects with support from other teams as needed
  • Lead ecological field investigations, report preparation & biodiversity assessments
  • Undertake broader environmental investigations and impact statements

You will work directly with, and be mentored by, several senior professionals who are leading practitioners in their respective fields.  Ongoing formal training will also be provided to strengthen and broaden your capabilities.

As an established or emerging leader, you will possess:

  • Qualifications in ecology
  • 2+ years’ experience, preferably within a consulting environment
  • Demonstrated botanical identification skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation
  • Sound experience within Sydney Basin ecology and undertaking ecological surveys in the vegetation communities of NSW
  • BAM Accreditation and/or bushfire planning accreditation would be highly regarded
  • Current driver’s licence

Senior Environmental Consultant

In this role you will enjoy a variety of work by partnering with local and federal government, regulatory authorities, and private organisations. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and support on a range of projects, including:
  • Conducting Environmental Impact assessments under NSW and Commonwealth Environmental Legislation including the preparation of SEEs, REFs, PEAs and EISs
  • Undertaking environmental auditing
  • Community & stakeholder engagement
  • Preparing fee proposals & marketing
  • Undertaking Business Development

You will work directly with, and be mentored by, several senior professionals who are leading practitioners in their respective fields.  Ongoing formal training will also be provided to strengthen and broaden your capabilities.

The right team member will have:

  • Qualifications in Environmental Science, Town Planning or Engineering essential
  • 5 + years experience in environmental impact assessments & approvals within a consulting environment
  • Thorough knowledge of the NSW Environmental Planning & Assessment Act & related legislation
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Project management and budgeting skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team

Principal Floodplain Engineer

We seek an experienced Floodplain Engineer; a specialist in the Floodplains sector, to help grow our existing Regional NSW operation.
  • Expand our enterprise in the NSW region.
  • Delivering high-quality expert advice and managing stakeholders internally & externally.
  • Tendering, performance and delivery of hydrological and hydraulic modelling studies.
  • Managing your own projects with support from other teams as needed.
  • Working on exciting and innovative technical reports.
  • Acting as the team lead for shared group projects across the business.
  • Recruiting new staff to your team in Sydney as needed and in line with the agreed business plan.

You will work directly with, and be mentored by, several senior professionals who are leading practitioners in their respective fields.  Ongoing formal training will also be provided to strengthen and broaden your capabilities.

The right team member will have:

  • 10+ years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modelling.
  • Knowledge of who’s who in the water industry in NSW and rapport to organically develop those relationships.
  • Business insights, acumen, expertise.
  • Significant teamwork skills and a strategic and collaborative approach.
  • Advanced technical skills including flood (TUFLOW, MIKE) and hydrologic (RAFTS, URBS) modelling packages (although you might not be using these every day).
  • Stellar customer service focus; an interest in creating excellent outcomes.
  • Communications skills – to know when to consult, when to advise and when to guide.
